At $6.45 million, a Cobble Hill townhouse was the priciest residential deal to go into contract in Brooklyn last week.
The 25-foot wide townhouse at 168 Amity Street spans 4,500 square feet with five bedrooms and includes a backyard. It spent 191 days on the market and went under contract at 7 percent below its asking price.
Overall, the Brooklyn luxury market saw 17 contracts signed last week, split between 12 houses and five condos, according to the latest report from Compass, which defines Brooklyn’s luxury market as homes priced at $2 million or higher.
The average contract price was about $3 million, and the total contract volume was about $51.4 million. The properties spent an average of 176 days on the market and sold at an average discount of 4 percent. Both numbers were slightly down from the week before, when the market saw 18 contracts signed for about $54.6 million.
The second priciest deal to go into contract was for a townhouse at 130 Saint Marks Avenue in Prospect Heights, which sold for $4.375 million. The six-bedroom brownstone spans about 3,900 square feet and went under contract at 4 percent below its asking price after spending 228 days on the market.
Other notable deals last week included a townhouse at 865 Union Street in Park Slope for $3.85 million and a condo at 1 Clinton Street in Brooklyn Heights for about $3.5 million.
