A Flushing congregation has sold its property for $37.5 million, and it reportedly will be the site of a new office tower.

Temple Gates of Prayer sold 38-20 Parsons Boulevard, a two-story synagogue, to an entity linked to Shun Qian Liu, according to property records. The congregation didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Liu couldn’t be reached.

Although an application has yet to be filed with the city’s buildings department, a 12-story office building may be built there. City Realty reported in 2018 that Queens-based Angelo Ng & Anthony NG Architects Studio P.C. is designing the project. The firm also didn’t immediately return a request for comment.

It’s not the first time Liu acquired a site from a religious group. A Catholic church recently sold a vacant parcel in Rego Park to a Liu-connected company for $30 million. A 21-story development is planned for that site.

The synagogue also acquired 145-17 Willets Boulevard for $5.3 million. The seller in that deal was Construction Arts WP, LLC.
