The commercial real estate finance firm hosted its 2019 party at Brasserie 8 ½

This year, Cooper Horowitz hosted its annual holiday party at a chic french eatery in the Solow Building.

Guests of the commercial real estate finance firm packed into Brasserie 8 ½, a stylish restaurant just off Fifth Avenue. An elegant spiral staircase led guests down to a packed bar where a sea of real estate professionals celebrated the year’s triumphs.

French bank Natixis, Swiss investment bank UBS and alternative lender LoanCore were all represented at the midday bash. Joe Bassil, managing director of Union Bank; Tim Zietara, chief investment officer of Centennial Bank; and James Mirman, senior vice president of commercial bank Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen held court around a table near the buffet.

Built in 1974, the dramatic Solow Building where Cooper Horowitz hosted its fête is also home to numerous financial firms including Highbridge Capital Management and global asset manager Apollo Management. The building also leases office space to high-fashion French brand Chanel.

As a parting holiday gift, guests received an ingenious device for celebrating closings — a whiskey glass with a slot for a cigar.
