Add another project to the residential development boom taking place in the South Bronx, this one a high-rise.
Developer Moshe Altmark, partner at The Altmark Group, is planning to build a 23-story, 135-unit project in Port Morris, according to plans filed with the Department of Buildings on Friday. The building will span about 95,000 square feet at 2455 3rd Avenue, and will stand 210 feet.
Altmark appears to be partnering on the project with Artimus Construction; an email address and phone number for the company are included on the application to the city.
Representatives for Altmark and Artimus did not respond to requests for comment.
Artimus applied to have the site included in New York’s Brownfield Cleanup Program this fall. The status of that application was not immediately clear.
The project is located a few blocks away from Bankside, the $950 million development Brookfield plans to build on the South Bronx waterfront that will feature more than 1,350 apartments and span 4.3 acres.
Another Altmark project in the South Bronx is at 750 East 134th Street. That development have 133 residential units and include 103,816 square feet of residential space, with 9,456 square feet of commercial space. The building will be eight stories.
