Flushing real estate boom continues with another mixed-use project

Development at 136-18 Maple Ave will span more than 100K sf and include 68 units

Flushing is getting yet another major mixed-use project.

Developer Vicki Zhi has filed plans with the Department of Buildings for a roughly 106,000-square-foot development at 136-18 Maple Avenue. The 14-story project would include 68 residential units, along with commercial and community space. It will stand 147 feet tall.

Zhi did not respond to a request for comment.

An LLC linked to Amy Khoudari has owned the property since at least 2015, according to property records.

Flushing has seen a development boom over the past few years. The neighborhood’s megaprojects include several mixed-use developments. Those include one from investor Yuk Ming Yip at 131-01 39th Avenue that will span 664,000 square feet, another from Kimco Realty at 46-15 Kissena Boulevard that will comprise 300,000 square feet and a third from Century Development Group at 134-37 35th Avenue, which will have 101 residential units.
