An elaborate, four-bedroom unit at the Plaza Hotel is looking for a wealthy new owner.
Asking $45 million, the property features crystal chandeliers, paneled walls and gold finishes, according to a listing on Douglas Elliman’s website.
The property is owned by a company associated with Olga Kogan of Russia, according to the Wall Street Journal, citing property records. A 2009 report said Kogan’s husband, Valery Kogan, was the head of the company that manages Moscow Domodedovo Airport. He was also responsible for building one of the biggest mansions in Israel, according to reports.
The couple are prolific investors in New York real estate. Property records show they are connected to companies that own units in 15 Central Park West and 515 Park Avenue, in addition to the opulent Plaza unit, described in marketing materials as having “interiors reminiscent of French royalty.”
Tal and Oren Alexander have the listing.
