Step aside Eloise, the Plaza Hotel is ready to welcome a new resident to the corner of Fifth Avenue and Central Park South.

Ready for one with $50 million to spare, that is.

Unit #1607 at the condo and retail building hit the market this week with that eye-popping asking price. The 4,500-square-foot duplex was last purchased for $11 million in 2010 and has since undergone a renovation, according to a StreetEasy listing.

The 1 Central Park South apartment has five bedrooms and five bathrooms, 14 windows overlooking the park, a chef’s kitchen with an eat-in banquette and a sitting room in the primary suite.

Amenities in the 21-story building include a concierge, butler, 24-hour in-room dining, twice daily housekeeping and La Palestra fitness center.

Brown Harris Stevens’ Jill Sloane has the listing. She did not return a request for comment.

Also on the market at the exclusive address are units 1007/1009 with an asking price of $38 million. The four-bedroom, French Renaissance-inspired apartment — owned by a company associated with Olga Kogan, the wife of a Russian airport mogul — was previously listed in 2020 for $45 million.

Other residents selling in the landmarked building include Goya Foods heiress Maribel Unanue McVicar, who listed her three-bedroom duplex for $14.5 million in January, Dirt reported.

The Plaza Hotel, designed by Henry Janeway Hardenbergh, was completed in 1907. In 2005, condo developer El Ad closed the hotel for three years to complete a $400 million redesign that included the addition of 180 residences.

Among the initial wave of buyers were Patriots football team owner Robert Kraft, fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger and former JetBlue CEO Dave Barger.

The Plaza’s previous owners include Conrad Hilton and Donald Trump, who bought the hotel for just over $400 million in 1988. However, by 1995, Trump was forced to sell the property at an $83 million loss during a personal debt restructuring.

Katara Hospitality, a Qatar government-owned hotel owner and developer, purchased the building in 2018 for $600 million.
