A 1992-built waterfront home in Southampton is being listed for the first time following the passing of its owners.
The estate at 632 Halsey Neck Lane is being listed for $52 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. The home belonged to Atlantic Records co-founder Ahmet Ertegun, who died in 2006, and his wife, Mica, who died in December.
A $52 million sale would rival the third-most expensive residential deal in the Hamptons last year.
The estate, known as the Boatman House, spans five and a half acres and includes an 11,000-square-foot main home, breaking the listing price down to $4,727 per square foot. The home is in the unique style of a Russian dacha.
The main home was designed by late architect Jaquelin Robertson, featuring 10 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms and two half-baths. The antique furniture of the home isn’t included in the listing, but there’s plenty of room to furnish, as the living room is large enough to fit an orchestra.
The estate includes a private dock on a creek that leads to Shinnecock Bay, which can also be seen from the top floor of the home. The grounds also have a 75-foot-long outdoor pool and gardens replete with cherry and pear trees.
The Corcoran Group’s Tim Davis shares the listing with Douglas Elliman’s Erica Grossman.
The Erteguns also had homes in Manhattan, in Bodrum, Turkey — Ahmet’s native country — and Paris. Ahmet chaired Atlantic Records after selling the company to Warner Brothers in 1967, while Mica was an interior designer who catered to clients such as Leon Black and Alice Walton.
The Hamptons housing market showed signs of getting its groove back last month. New signed contracts and new listings grew significantly in February, according to Miller Samuel’s monthly report for Douglas Elliman.
