If this list of the biggest retail leases in the five boroughs last month is any indication, then restaurateurs are feeling very positive about the New York City retail scene. Of the ten leases featured below, five are new restaurants or bars, and of those five, four represent a second or even third location within the city. 1) Dante NYC | 210 Elizabeth Street | Nolita | 10,000 sf
The Italian restaurant signed a new lease in the Nolita building, notching their third location in the borough. The space was previously occupied by Public Space. Jarrett and Gage Sharp of Murro Realty represented both the tenant and the landlord, SW Management.
2) Carneval | 470 Driggs Avenue | Williamsburg | 7,500 sf
The eatery has signed a new lease for a second location in Williamsburg. The eatery has a festive theme, as the name implies. Eddie Mamiye of MOD Commercial Realty represented both the tenant and the landlord, Kalmon Dolgin.
3) Please Don’t Tell | 162 West Fourth Street | West Village | 6,000 sf
Despite the low profile implications of its name and premise, the speakeasy inked a new lease in the West Village building, marking its second location. Jarrett and Gage Sharp of Murro Realty represented both the tenant and the landlord, SW Management.
4) Unya NYC | 237 West 35th Street | Garment District | 5,000 sf
Olie Sangpetpairot, the Thai-born restaurateur who owns two other restaurants within the city, signed a new lease in the Garment District building for a new eatery. Noam Aziz of Meridian Capital Group represented the tenant, while Raymond Mordekhai of Forest Park Properties represented the landlord, the Somerset Group.
5) Pura Vida | 25 Kent Avenue | Williamsburg | 4,100 sf
The cafe chain signed a new lease in the Williamsburg building, marking its first foray into Brooklyn. Jackie Totolo and Jordyn Comras of Newmark represented the tenant, while a 3-member Newmark team including Caleb Petersen and Michael Cohen represented the landlord, Rubenstein Partners.
6) Ligne Roset | 207 East 57th Street | Midtown East | 3,700 sf
The French furniture brand inked a new lease in the Midtown East building. A 3-member Newmark team including Logan Ryan and Ariel Schuster represented both the tenant and the landlord, Hubb NYC.
7) Vondom | 171 Madison Avenue | Garment District | 2,800 sf
The outdoor furniture manufacturer inked a new lease in the Garment District building. Marc Simon of Isaacs and Company represented the tenant, while Andrew Taub and Benjamin Birnbaum of Newmark represented the landlord, GFP Real Estate.
8) 7-11 | 945 Kings Highway | Ocean Parkway | 2,500 sf
The convenience store inked a new lease in the Ocean Parkway building. Josh Augenbaum of Augenbaum Realty represented both the tenant and the landlord, 943 Kings Highway LLC.
9) Pella Windows & Doors | 171 Madison Avenue | Garment District | 2,400 sf
The window and door manufacturer inked a new lease in the Garment District building. Matthew Colavita of GFP Real Estate represented the tenant, while Allen Gurevich, also of GFP Real Estate, represented the landlord in house.
10) Tribeca Pediatrics | 610 Columbus Avenue | Upper West Side | 2,200 sf
The pediatric practice signed a new lease in the Upper West Side building. Josh Augenbaum of Augenbaum Realty represented the tenant, while Doral Melloul and Marc Sitt of KSR represented the landlord, 600 Colmbus Avenue Owner.
