More than 60,000 square feet of exercise space is coming to NYC from last month’s top two retail leases alone, as a fitness brand and an indoor golf center top of the list. Other entries further down the list showcase a ballet studio, a luxury designer, and a few new eateries. Read on to see just how the largest retail leases of November stack up.
1) Chelsea Piers Fitness | 135 East 57th Street | Plaza District | 47,000 sf
The wellness studio franchise signed a new lease in the Plaza District building owned by TF Cornerstone. The two companies have a rich history together, this being the third lease between the two.
2) Five Iron Golf | 25 Kent Street | Greenpoint | 15,900 sf
The indoor golf experience inked a new lease across the first floor and lower level of the Greenpoint building. The planned space will include 13 simulators and other amenities. Neal Ohm, Andrew Taub and Caleb Petersen of Newmark represented the landlord, Global Holdings.
3) Carver Road Hospitality | 80 South Street | Financial District | 14,000 sf
The hospitality group signed a new lease with Seaport Entertainment Group in the South Street Seaport to bring their Flanker Kitchen + Sports Bar concept to Pier 17.
4) Taj Inc | 109-07 101st Avenue | Richmond Hill | 10,800 sf
The tenant inked a new lease in the Richmond Hill building. Chris Mauriello of Douglas Elliman represented the tenant, while Nicholas Mauriello of Douglas Elliman represented the landlord, Michael Kahan.
5) Portabella | 49 West 57th Street | Plaza District | 10,000 sf
The menswear retailer signed a new lease in the Plaza District building. Josh Augenbaum of Augenbaum Realty represented both the landlord, Sedesco, and the tenant.
6) Carnegie Hospitality | 200 Chambers Street | Tribeca | 8,500 sf
The hospitality group signed a new 20-year lease in the Tribeca building, where it will be opening a new Greek restaurant. Jeffrey Roseman of Newmark represented the tenant, while Brett Greenberg and Fran Delgorio of Jack Resnick & Sons represented the landlord in house.
7) Cobble Hill Ballet | 300 Huntington Street | Carroll Gardens | 5,800 sf
The ballet studio signed a new 10-year lease in the Carroll Gardens building. Matthew Hopkins of Acona Real Estate Advisors represented the tenant, while a 4-member CBRE team including Patrick Dugan and Joseph Cirone represented the landlord, Monadnock Development.
8) Jacob Cohen | 792 Madison Avenue | Upper East Side | 4,400 sf
The luxury designer inked a new lease in the Upper East Side building. Ariel Schuster and Michael Paster of Newmark represented the tenant, while Gary Dana of Douglas Elliman represented the landlord, Campustar Enterprises.
9) Motek | 184 Bleecker Street | Greenwich Village | 3,900 sf
The Mediterranean restaurant signed a new 15-year lease in the Greenwich Village building. Carolina Aziz and Samuel Chera of KSR represented the tenant, while David Gleitman of Targo Capital Partners represented the landlord, David Gleitman.
10) ID Hot Yoga | 410 West 14th Street | Meatpacking District | 3,600 sf
The yoga studio signed a new lease in the Meatpacking District building. Eli Marcus of Meridian Retail Leasing represented both the tenant and the landlord, Amcojor Realty.
