A home fit for a designer notched the top contract in Brooklyn last week.
Brooklyn Home Company co-founder Bill Caleo and his wife, interior decorator Megan Noetzel, found a buyer for their condo at Quay Tower in Brooklyn Heights asking $11.9 million. The deal was the priciest of 29 contracts signed between April 20 and April 26, according to Compass’ report on homes asking at least $2 million.
Caleo bought two unfinished units at the RAL Companies development in 2020 for $10.2 million and worked with his firm to combine them into a six-bedroom spread that spans almost 4,500 square feet.
A private two-elevator entrance leads into an open layout with views of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty. The home has six bathrooms, a library with built-ins and custom millwork and a chef’s kitchen.
The primary suite in the northeast corner of the home has a walk-in closet and an en suite bathroom with a freestanding soaking tub, walk-in rain shower and double vanity.
Caleo’s firm has been responsible for a number of projects around Brownstone Brooklyn that have garnered their own lofty sales numbers, including the renovation of a townhouse at 1 Sidney Place that sold for over $22 million to Glossier founder Emily Weiss in 2024.
Built in 2019, the 125-unit property at 50 Bridge Park Drive has a 24-hour concierge, fitness center, rooftop lounge and music room.
Compass’ Lindsay Barton Barrett, Taylor Schultz and Christopher Mohr had the listing.
The second priciest contract last week was for a renovated two-family at 156 Lafayette Avenue in Fort Greene asking $7.2 million.
The home appeared on StreetEasy the same day it recorded a signed contract and included no listing details.
The sellers were Andrew MacArthur and Millie Perry, according to public records, who bought the property for $1.5 million in 2011. They also own a marina in Brooksville, Maine, according to the Penobscot Press.
Compass’ Cornelia Van Amburg and Chris Mutterer had the listing.
The two deals topped a strong week in Brooklyn, which saw deals signed for $103 million in asking volume. The contracts included 14 condos, two co-ops and 13 single-family homes.
Buyers signed 25 contracts for $76 million the previous week.
The median asking price for deals signed last week was $3 million, the average price per square foot was $1,514 and homes spent an average of 68 days on the market.
