A Westchester home that a New York court ruled to be “officially haunted” has hit the market.
The house in Nyack is being listed for $1.9 million, the New York Post reported. The former owner, Helen Ackley, claimed it was haunted by Revolutionary War-era ghosts, according to the report.
After she put the home up for sale in 1989, however, a would-be buyer sued her on the grounds that she’d failed to “disclose the spectral situation within.” The court sided with the buyer two years later.
Since then, the Queen Anne Victorian has been home to several notable residents, including director, screenwriter and actor Adam Brooks; singer-songwriter Ingrid Michaelson; and its current owner, musician Matisyahu.
“It’s a fun backstory to this gorgeous home, but none of the previous three owners over the last few years have seen any ghosts,” according to Better Homes and Gardens Rand Realty’s Nancy Blake Weber, who has the listing, the Post reported. [NYPost]
