New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has thrown his support behind an ordinance that would regulate Airbnb rentals in Jersey City, NJBIZ reported. The ordinance, approved by the city in June, includes a number of measures that crack down on short-term rentals, including one that “bars homeowners from leasing out their property as a short-term rental for more than 60 days if they do not live in the home,” according to the outlet. “I support Jersey City’s Local Ordinance 19-77. Short-term rentals should be regulated,” Murphy tweeted Tuesday. Jersey City residents will vote on the ordinance on Nov. 5. [NJBIZ]
