A Westchester County hospital is closing — and its campus will eventually be up for redevelopment, LoHud reported. Montefiore Health System plans to close Mount Vernon Hospital and build a 40,000-square-foot, $41 million emergency and ambulatory facility on East Sandford Boulevard. The existing hospital campus “will become available for redevelopment after it closes in 2020,” according to the outlet. “Our new site puts patients first, reflects best practices in health care and ensures Mount Vernon residents have high-quality care for years to come,” Montefiore Health System’s Lynn Richmond said in a statement.
