A home in Sagaponack that dates back to 1894 has come on the market for $7.95 million, according to The Independent. Stephen Bolles Halsey and his wife Adelia VanWyck Vandervoort built the home on Daniels Lane as their summer residence; Halsey was a descendant of Josiah Stanborough, Sagaponack’s first settler, and the son of Stephen Alling Halsey, who is considered to be the founder of Astoria, Queens, according to the outlet. The shingle-style house measures 2,346 square feet and has six bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Douglas Elliman’s Paul Brennan and Martha Gundersen are marketing the property. [Indy East End]
