Some New York City residents looking to flee the five boroughs as the Covid-19 crisis escalates are setting their sights on Westchester County’s rental properties.
Realtors in the county are “seeing a dramatic increase in demand from city families,” Ellen Stern, of William Pitt/Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s International Realty, told LoHud.
Rents, meanwhile, are skyrocketing. In Mamaroneck, for example, a waterfront mansion is seeking $50,000 per month.
“It’s unprecedented — Westchester County has nothing that’s commanded this kind of dollars,” listing agent Mimi Magarelli, also of William Pitt/Julia B. Fee Sotheby’s, told the outlet. [LoHud]
