After 20 years of planning, false starts, delays and construction, a portion of the American Dream in New Jersey finally opened last fall. Its retail portion was set to open in March, but then coronavirus hit, closing the snakebit mall or the foreseeable future. Now the shopping and entertainment destination in East Rutherford is firing back against the virus: Developer Triple Five Group is turning part of it into a coronavirus testing station for local first responders and health workers.
