Nassau County is giving commercial property owners and homeowners through at least June 1 to pay their property taxes without penalty or interest, according to Long Island Business News. The county legislature extended the deadline earlier this week to ease the financial pressure on local property owners. Last week the county also put off collecting around $3 million worth of licensing fees from contractors. Nearby Suffolk County, meanwhile, has not shifted its May 31 property tax deadline.
