A Southampton Village manse designed by architect Joel Barkley has sold for $14.6 million, according to the Southampton Press.
Barkley, of the firm Ike Kligerman Barkley, put the 11,000-square-foot home on the cover of a 2015 monograph titled “The New Shingled House: Ike Kligerman Barkley.” It has six bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms and sits on just under two acres.
The mansion hit the market last year asking $18 million but the price had been cut down to $16 million by the time the sale closed. The design was inspired by 19th-century, shingle-style mansions and incorporates many modern design elements, including an open floor plan and floor-to-ceiling windows.
