Town officials will debate the issue at a meeting on Oct. 27, after which it can make a formal offer of compensation to the property’s owner.

The Oasis sits on about a fifth of an acre on the Nissequogue River. A lawyer for the owner said that they are working “to resolve issues that my client has with the town.” [Newsday] —Dennis Lynch
