An updated and expanded 120-year-old mansion in Bridgehampton is hitting the market for $28.5 million, according to Bloomberg.
The sellers, Chris Mitchell and Pilar Guzmán, bought the home two years ago for $7.1 million. They moved the entire house to a new foundation and redesigned what they called the “1987-era” interiors and exteriors with a mix of contemporary styling and historical features more keeping with the home’s original aesthetic.
They also furnished the house, built in 1902, with contemporary and midcentury objects. It’s now 12,000 square feet with 10 bedrooms and sits on 2.3 acres near Ocean Road Beach.
Sag Harbor architect Anne Sherry spearheaded the renovation. Beate Moore and Frank Newbold of Sotheby’s International Realty have the listing. [Bloomberg] — Dennis Lynch
