A vacant Amagansett parcel of beach and dunes has traded hands for $16.5 million.
The 9.4-acre parcel at 2024 Montauk Highway sold to commodities trader Steven Berkson in an all-cash deal following a bidding war, Behind the Hedges reported. The seller was a local family.
Nest Seekers International said in an Instagram post that Berkson plans to “build a spectacular one-of-a-kind compound.” Nest Seekers’ Dylan Eckardt and Shawn Elliott represented both parties in the deal.
The property was previously subdivided into four lots. It has 400 feet of ocean frontage.
The wider Hamptons market has been hot since the pandemic and so far this year two properties have sold for more than $50 million — an eight-acre estate in East Hampton for $60 million and a three-acre estate across town for $59.5 million.
