Three retailers have inked leases for about 200,000 square feet total at Sayville Plaza shopping center in Long Island, which lost Kmart as a tenant just before the start of the pandemic.

At Home, the home decor store, will occupy 94,000 square feet, Floor & Decor warehouse store and design center is set to take 80,000 square feet and open on Sept. 16, and supermarket chain Aldi will occupy 30,000 square feet, according to Newsday. That will mark Aldi’s ninth Long Island location.

At Home will take part of the former Kmart location as well as retail space left vacant by Office Max, Borders and Sports Authority, according to the report. The company submitted plans to the town of Islip in June. This will be its first store on Long Island.

Portions of Sayville Plaza in Bohemia are owned by different companies. Kmart vacated 110,000 square feet in February 2020 and Pier 1 left its 10,000-square-foot location, the same month it filed for bankruptcy. It was replaced by Jennifer Furniture.

Northwell Health also opened a temporary space in April that Babies R Us vacated in 2018. A Covid testing and vaccination site will remain in the shopping center through at least the end of the year.
