Legendary rock’n’roll artist Billy Joel has listed his luxe Centre Island estate in Oyster Bay, Long Island, for $49 million, Newsday reported.
Bonnie Williamson of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing.
The 20,000-square-foot main home, which is currently under renovation and sits on 26 acres, has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a three-bedroom guest apartment, a bowling alley, exercise room, dining room, home office, indoor pool, an elevator to every floor and water views of Oyster Bay Harbor.
The grounds include a three-bedroom beach house, helicopter pad, an inground pool, and a floating dock.
Joel, who bought the estate in 2002 for $22.5 million, listed it in 2008 for $32.5 million, but pulled it from the market, the outlet reported.
He has been active on the real estate market, having purchased a 13,000-square-foot, eight bedroom mansion in Palm Beach for $22.1 million in 2015. He subsequently put the 1.6-acre property back on the market in 2018 for $21.9 million.
The Grammy winner sold the vacant lot at 1930 South Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach in 2018 for $7.5 million. The lot is next to another home he listed for $16.9 million in 2018 as well.
In 2021, developer Todd Michael Glaser flipped Joel’s former Miami Beach home in eight months for $6.8 million after having purchased it for $5 million.
