The owner of Bedell Cellars on the North Fork is looking to sell once again.
The vineyard at 36255 Main Road in Cutchogue and its other properties listed for $12 million, Behind the Hedges reported. The listing also includes a tap room in Southold and a third property. Overall, the three properties span 95 acres.
Bedell North Fork LLC is listed as the seller of the seven different parcels of land. Some still hold at least some development rights intact and the parcels run the gamut, including built property, commercial property and more.
One parcel has the company’s tasting room, wine-making facilities, offices and a 4,000-square-foot events pavilion. Another lot spans nearly four-and-a-half acres and has its development rights intact. There are 42 acres of mature vines at one spot, then two acres for the Corey Creek tap and tasting rooms at another.
Among the features of the listing are a 10,000-square-foot tasting room, a wine lab, a barrel room, a bottling line and a fermentation cellar.
While a buyer can do as they please with the property, particularly those existing development rights, staying in the wine business may be easiest for an incoming owner. Bedell is a popular brand in the region, bringing in 100,000 visitors each year. There are also 2,000 subscribers to its wine club and it distributes its products to hundreds of restaurants on Long Island and in New York City.
Ninah Lynne has been running the vineyard since the deaths of her husband, former New Line Cinema CEO Michael Lynne, and son in 2019.
The upscale winery previously hit the market in 2019 for $17.9 million, shortly after the passing of the executive, who purchased the vineyard from the Bedell family in 2000.
NOFO Real Estate’s James and Susan Orioli have the listing.
Since the onset of the pandemic, North Fork vineyards have attracted a wide variety of buyers. As people flocked away from New York City after the onset of the pandemic, the green lands of vineyards enticed investments from many, including news producer and presenter Dan Abrams and real estate scion Stefan Soloviev.
