Cantor Fitzgerald chief executive Howard Lutnick is gathering 100 guests in the Hamptons on Friday in the hopes of raising over $10 million for Donald Trump, Bloomberg reported.
The real estate and investment banker is reportedly co-hosting the get-together with former hedge fund manager John Paulson and president of 1789 Capital Omeed Malik. To score a seat at the table with Trump, guests have to fork over $250,000.
“I’m trying to help any way I can,” Lutnick said in an interview on Bloomberg TV.
Lutnick has been in Trump’s orbit over the years, appearing on “The Apprentice” and more recently introducing the candidate’s running mate Ohio Senator J.D. Vance at a rally in Minnesota last week.
The billionaire has also dug into his own pockets, donating about $1 million to organizations supporting Trump, according to OpenSecrets.
Lutnick has also previously donated to Vice President Kamala Harris in 2016, a contribution he attributes to his wife Allison. Lutnick said Trump’s support of Israel swayed his wife to the other side. He claims Trump sat down with his wife and assured her, “I will be the best president for Israel. I will protect Israel.”
Lutnick has indicated a willingness to serve on Trump’s administration, telling Bloomberg, “If the president asks you to serve, you have to say yes.”
