The estate at 635 Daniels Lane in Sagaponack is hitting the market for the first time in more than 60 years, listed at $85 million, Behind the Hedges reported

The listing is the fourth-most expensive in the Hamptons right now. If sold at ask, the price would amount to more than $6,200 per square foot.

The sellers appear to be third-generation real estate developers Mark and Stephen Perlbinder. The brothers have been feuding over a family fortune for years, the New York Post reported back in 2021.

The brick and steel mansion spans nearly 14,000 square feet. There are 10 bedrooms — many with floor-to-ceiling glass windows — 12 bathrooms and two half baths.

Designer John Saladino and architect Peter Marino both contributed to building the estate, the latter overseeing a 10,000-square-foot addition in 2005.

The estate has more than five acres and includes 357 feet of ocean frontage. It borders a dunescape preserved by the Peconic Land Trust. The property also includes a pool and a greenhouse.

Corcoran’s Tim Davis has the listing. In the spring, the Perlbinders were reportedly seeking $150 million for the home, which was being shopped around as a pocket listing.

Two of the three properties listed for more in the Hamptons than this one are in Water Mill, while the third is in East Hampton. The most expensive property on the market in the area is an equestrian compound in Water Mill, listed for $125 million.

The market share of sales in the Hamptons for at least $5 million has been surging, according to a third quarter report by Jonathan Miller. From July to September, 13 percent of the sales in the Hamptons were for at least $5 million.
