Anton Segerstrom
Segerstrom runs one of the most profitable malls in the country, and Orange County’s first enclosed shopping center. He is also part of one of Orange County’s most influential families.
Anton’s father, Henry Segerstrom, was a real estate developer and patron of the arts, who created South Coast Plaza (whose collection of high-end retailers, such as Chanel and Fendi, helped drive $2.5 billion in sales between June 2023 and June 2024) and established the Segerstrom Center for the Arts. Henry turned the family farming businesses into a commercial real estate empire, after earning an MBA from Stanford and serving in World War II. The family business portfolio now includes The Plaza, Center and Park towers, each in close proximity to the South Coast Plaza.
In Sept. 2025, the Santa Ana City Council unanimously approved C.J. Segerstrom & Sons’ new project, The Village, a mixed-use development near South Coast Plaza that could produce nearly 1,600 new homes.
