Daniel Yukelson

Executive Director and CEO, Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles

Multifamily property owners count on Yukelson to go to bat for them. The head of the Apartment Association of Greater Los Angeles since 2017, Yukelson has spearheaded multiple lawsuits challenging city ordinances that the association viewed as detrimental to its over 10,000 members that own or manage more than 350,000 rental units.

In Jan. 2025, Yukelson called upon association members to provide available rental units to assist victims displaced by wildfires in the Los Angeles area. In March 2024 he criticized the City of West Hollywood’s decision to impose a one-year minimum lease term up from 31 days for single-family and condominium rentals. He argued the policy could limit housing options and negatively impact property owners. The 100-plus-year-old association filed a lawsuit against the City of Los Angeles in 2023 to invalidate a rent freeze ordinance and in 2022, the organization filed a joint lawsuit with the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association to overturn Measure ULA.

Prior to joining the Apartment Association, Yukelson served 12 years as CFO for Premiere Radio Networks, now a subsidiary of iHeartMedia, and three years as CFO for Oasis West Realty, owner of the Beverly Hilton and Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills. There he was involved with the development and construction of the Waldorf. Yukelson also spent six years as a planning commissioner and three years as a public works commissioner for the City of Beverly Hills.
