The Frisbie family is Palm Beach’s homegrown real estate dynasty. Yet, with the second generation now at the helm, the Frisbies are stretching beyond what has been a more limited operation and pursuing larger, more ambitious projects.

The first generation — brothers David, Rick and Rob Sr. — got their start in real estate in the 1970s, when they bought and restored a brownstone in Boston while studying at Harvard University. They eventually ventured south, finishing their first Palm Beach project in 1996. The family has historically focused on small luxury projects in South Florida and Nantucket, developing spec homes, townhomes, and a boutique resort in the Florida Keys.

The firm is now led by Rob Jr. and his brother-in-law Cody Crowell, who have spearheaded a move toward larger projects with heavyweight partners.

In 2025, they announced a partnership with the Trump-affiliated 1789 Capital to launch a $1 billion real estate investment fund focused on South Florida. They are also planning a 1,000-unit, multi-phased residential development in West Palm Beach in partnership with David Martin’s Terra, with whom they’ve also proposed a massive redevelopment of Boca Raton’s government campus.

But they’ve had some stumbles as well, such as in 2024, when local politics quashed their planned redevelopment of a 5.8-acre parcel in the heart of Palm Beach.
In 2021, the Frisbies partnered with Texas-based Hines on a Robert A.M. Stern-designed condo project, which they sold to Steve Ross for $194.6 million. Now known as South Flagler House, it is the premier new development project in West Palm Beach’s pipeline.

Dave Frisbie’s wife, Suzanne Frisbie, is a principal in the firm and a broker with the Corcoran Group who is leading sales at the tower. She was one of two agents on the sell side of the $150 million Tarpon Island deal in 2024, one of the most expensive sales in Palm Beach history.

While success with their new endeavors remains to be proven, it is clear the family is in position to reap the benefits of South Florida’s post-pandemic luxury boom.
