Greg West
ZOM Living may be based in Florida, but its CEO is a Dallas guy. West, a Southern Methodist University grad, started at the multifamily development firm in 1997. Now, it’s known for its large-scale apartment communities and mixed-use projects in the Sun Belt.
Under West’s leadership, ZOM Living has developed over 20,000 multifamily units, with more than 5,400 units currently under construction or in pre‑development across markets including Florida, Texas, Arizona, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Massachusetts and the Mid‑Atlantic region. When West started at the company, it financed projects by syndicating investments from individual investors and small institutions. It’s since shifted to an institutional investment platform.
As CEO, West has overseen the firm’s increased focus on Texas and diversification into specific types of multifamily properties. ZOM Living has recently gotten into senior housing with the goal of creating more urban senior housing, so aging residents don’t have to rely on transportation.
West, who studied accounting, land development and construction management, has been involved in all aspects of the development process including scouting new opportunities, underwriting, permitting, project design and construction.
