Henry Cisneros

Henry Cisneros

Chairman

The former mayor of San Antonio has built a career around housing development in the public and private sectors. He was a popular mayor whose political tenure was marked by economic growth. But his legacy may be remembered for leading a successful vote for the city-supported construction of the Alamodome.

President Bill Clinton appointed Cisneros Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in 1993, where he was credited for rehabbing public housing developments and boosting homeownership. He served in the position until 1997, leaving amid controversy involving payments to his former mistress.

Cisneros worked as COO of Spanish-language broadcast Univision before returning to San Antonio and launching American City Vista. The company, which became CityView, is a real estate investment manager focused on urban housing. In January 2024, Cisneros founded American Triple I, an infrastructure investment management firm based in New York which focuses on projects that straddle the public and private realms, like the redevelopment of John F. Kennedy Airport and rail projects in Los Angeles.

His current work centers on the growing housing needs in Texas.
