Hilary Spann

In a field with few women at the top, Spann is one of the rare power players reshaping the office and life science markets.

As BXP’s executive vice president for the New York region since 2021, Spann oversees development, acquisitions, leasing, property management, and construction for the Boston-based REIT in New York and Princeton, New Jersey. 

Before landing at BXP, Spann ran the Americas real estate business at CPP Investments, directing strategy and portfolio management across North and South America. She spent 15 years at JPMorgan Asset Management, where she rose to head Northeast acquisitions, building a reputation for identifying high-value opportunities and executing complex deals.

The Georgia native with a Southern twang has a background in design and planning. She has degrees in architecture and master planning from Georgia Tech and studied at L’École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris – La Villette. But instead of designing buildings, she pivoted to developing them.
