Jerry Mooty Jr.
Jerry Mooty Jr. is an attorney, entrepreneur and real estate professional, but he also has another significant calling card: Nephew of Jerry Jones, the owner of the Cowboys pro football franchise and various real estate interests in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Mooty has been a serial entrepreneur since 1998, when he co-founded McCathern Mooty, LLP. He’s established several other businesses, including Blue Star Payment Solutions, LLC., with the name an apparent nod to his connection to Jones and the Cowboys, who use a blue star as a logo.
Mooty dove into real estate in 2020, taking on the role of director of strategy at Rogers Healy and Associates in the early days of the pandemic. He quickly made a name for himself, closing over $25 million in transactions in his first year, a fast start that prompted him to launch the Mooty Luxury Group under the @properties franchise. Mooty has shown himself to be adaptable to larger trends in the residential market in 2021, when @properties acquired Christie’s International Real Estate, folding his @properties Lone Star under its umbrella. Such flexibility is due to get tested going forward, too, as Mooty guides his team through the wake of the more recent deal by Compass to acquire @properties. That likely brings another layer of identity in a market where independent brokerages have kept a solid grip on market share as Compass has gobbled up players in recent years.
