John Zogg

President, Southwest Region

A veteran CRE executive who helped shape Dallas’ modern office landscape as head of Crescent Real Estate’s office portfolio, Zogg’s second act is spearheading Goldenrod Companies’ aggressive push into North Texas. He joined the Omaha, Nebraska-based firm in 2023 and oversees its ambitious pipeline, spanning Fort Worth’s Cultural District, West Dallas and suburban offices.

Goldenrod has two notable projects in the pipeline in Fort Worth’s Cultural District: the Van Zandt and One University. Anchored by trophy office space — a rarity in Cowtown — along with residential and hospitality components, the projects target a city Zogg calls “starved for new product.”

The company has also made a major land play in West Dallas, acquiring more than 35 acres across nearly 90 parcels near Trinity Groves in a 2023 deal. The assemblage gives the firm rare control over a site less than two miles from downtown. Zogg said the first phase will likely be high-rise multifamily, though office, hospitality and other uses remain on the table. The firm recently expanded its DFW footprint with the acquisition of Collins Crossing, an office complex in Richardson that also includes 3.5 acres zoned for multifamily.

Zogg is a founding board member of the Woodall Rodgers Park Foundation, which operates Dallas’s Klyde Warren Park — a deck park that covers Woodall Rogers Freeway and connects Uptown and Downtown Dallas. The opening of the park intensified the trend of office tenants moving from downtown to Uptown.
