Jonathan Rose
Founder, President, Jonathan Rose Companies
Jonathan Rose isn’t deterred by the anti-ESG sentiment post-election, and he’s still fundraising. His Jonathan Rose Companies has raised $1.5 billion for green, affordable housing funds from notable investors including Capital One and the Ford Foundation.
Rose founded the development and investment firm in 1989. It is now one of the largest buyers of affordable and mixed income housing in the country. He is a scion of the venerable Rose real estate dynasty: His grandfather and great-uncle founded the real estate development company Rose Associates in 1928, and his father was later chairman.
Jonathan Rose Companies has developed 19,000 affordable and mixed-income apartment units and owns 10 properties throughout Southern California. One is a recent development — a seven-story residential building on West 3rd Street Los Angeles with 134 homes for low income households and more than 10,000 square feet of open space.
