Lane had a big task ahead of her when she landed at Coldwell Banker Realty in 2023, in the middle of the Sitzer-Burnett class action lawsuit in Missouri federal court. The lawsuit eventually gave way to the National Association of Realtors settlement and new rules that took effect last August when it comes to commissions. 

Now, she’s leading a crew of more than 48,000 agents in over 55 markets amid the $1.6 billion merger of Coldwell parent Anywhere Real Estate and Compass, which was announced in September 2025. 

Lane made a big pivot when she entered the residential brokerage business. After previously managing men’s and women’s accessories at eBay and serving as chief marketing officer for luxury fashion marketplace Tradesy, she went to Compass in 2019 as its greater Los Angeles general manager. She eventually worked her way up to Compass western region president. She was there for the brokerage’s debut on the New York Stock Exchange in 2021 before jumping to Sotheby’s International Realty in 2022 as national brokerage president.
