Katy Slade’s Mintwood Real Estate is a Dallas‑based development firm known for mixed‑use, multifamily and adaptive‑reuse projects in urban neighborhoods. Slade launched Mintwood in 2018 after more than a decade in institutional real estate, most recently serving as area vice president of investments at Gables Residential, where she helped source and develop multifamily and mixed‑use opportunities across Texas and other high‑growth markets.

With Mintwood, Slade targets underutilized urban sites and complex developments that blend housing, retail and community‑oriented design. Mintwood has delivered projects such as Oakhouse, a 219‑unit mixed‑income multifamily community in Dallas’s Oak Cliff neighborhood, developed through the state’s Public Facility Corporation program. It also completed Peridot Residences, a high‑profile office‑to‑multifamily conversion at Santander Tower in downtown Dallas.

Slade’s approach emphasizes community advocacy, with a focus on “future‑proofing” projects so they align with neighborhood needs and long‑term urban trends.

Mintwood’s immediate future will give Slade her next test with a project in North Oak Cliff in a second partnership with New York-based MSquared. The development is called “Loma,” which will get tax abatements through the public facility program. It expected to deliver 370 luxury units and 187 reserved as affordable to households with somewhere between 50 to 80 percent of the median income in the area.
