Lawrence Moens

Founder, Owner

Moens is the elusive figure brokering Palm Beach mansion sales for some of the world’s most influential billionaires.

His client roster includes Donald Trump, Ken Griffin, Steve Wynn, Larry Ellison and Jim Clark. In 2022, he brokered the $173 million sale between Ellison and Clark for the 16-acre Ziff estate in Manalapan, which holds the price record for Palm Beach County sales.

He began selling homes in Palm Beach in the 1970s and founded his firm, Lawrence A. Moens Associates, in 1982, building a reputation for discretion, access and deep market knowledge in one of the most competitive luxury enclaves in the country.

His career has shaped the island’s ultraluxury residential market for more than five decades. His transaction history spans some of Palm Beach’s most significant residential deals, with much of his business conducted quietly through off-market transactions. As a result, his total career sales volume is widely believed to reach into the multiple billions of dollars, though precise figures are difficult to verify.

Notoriously press-shy, Moens has long operated outside the public spotlight. That changed in 2023, when he was called as a witness in one of Donald Trump’s fraud cases, drawing national attention after testifying that he agreed with Trump’s bold $1 billion valuation of Mar-a-Lago in an episode that briefly pulled one of Palm Beach’s most discreet power brokers into the public eye.

“There’s nothing quite like it, though there are a handful of places in the world. I guess the Taj Mahal in India,” Moens said in his testimony. “It’s magnificent. One of the greatest structures there is on the planet Earth.”
