Lisa Gomez
Lisa Gomez knows how to build in New York City.
When she was selected as one of the handful of for-profit real estate executives for Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s 24-person transition committee on housing, she brought with her experience in both the private and public sector, not to mention decades of navigating the challenges of building affordable housing in the Big Apple.
Before joining L+M, she served as senior vice president at the city’s Housing Development Corporation under then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg and was also a City Planning commissioner between 2004 and 2007. She previously worked at JPMorgan Chase and Silverstein Properties.
Gomez joined L+M, one of the city’s most active affordable housing developers, in 2007 as an executive vice president of development. She worked her way up to chief operating officer in 2014, and then replaced Ron Moelis as CEO in 2022.
She has overseen the financing of approximately $13 billion worth of new construction and preservation projects throughout her career, netting more than 20,000 apartments across the U.S., according to an L+M representative.
As of December 2025, L+M had more than 16,500 housing units in its pipeline or under construction.
