Malcolm Butters
As CEO of his namesake company, Butters has more than 35 years experience building projects in South Florida, having overseen the development of more than 25 million square feet of commercial space — valued at over $2 billion — that spans industrial, office, retail, hotel, and multifamily sectors.
In recent years, Butters’ firm has focused on South Florida’s industrial market, which is starting to plateau after years of record growth since the pandemic.
Butters is currently developing the 85,000-square-foot Andrews Logistics Center in Pompano Beach and First Park Miami, a phased, 2.5 million-square-foot industrial park in Medley valued at roughly $400 million. The first two phases consist of six warehouses spanning 1 million square feet and are fully leased. Recently, however, Butters has barreled into slowed tenant demand and growing vacancy rates in South Florida’s industrial sector.
The run-up of the pandemic era appeared to have finally lost its edge at the end of 2025 with increases in industrial vacancies in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties counties compared to the previous year.
