Matthew Clayman

In Clayman’s new gig at Coldwell Banker Realty, he oversees one of the brokerage’s most storied offices in Beverly Hills. It’s home to star agents such as Jade Mills at a brand that’s a heritage name in the business.

His reputation within the industry won him an early nod from Mills before even joining Coldwell. The super agent said she had the “impression that he was very well loved by all of the agents” at his former firm. Just a few months into his current gig, he made a splash, snapping up seven recruits.

The challenge is whether he can sustain the momentum, especially amid Compass and Coldwell parent Anywhere Real Estate’s merger. If Clayman’s track record is any indication, the answer is yes. In 2014, he was just starting out in real estate at Douglas Elliman, where he oversaw over $500 million in residential deals during a five-year period. After that, he was senior director of luxury estates at Compass Beverly Hills from 2017 to 2021 and then spent a year at Side as a business manager. He joined the fast-growing Beverly Hills Estates in 2022 as general manager and broker of record, where he boosted agent recruitment by 80 percent year over year and drove over 75 percent growth in the business annually. A jack-of-all-trades, he handled everything from management duties, profit-and-loss statements, commission breakdowns for every single deal that moved through that brokerage and compliance.
