Meyer Orbach and Josh Gotlib

Chairman; Chief Executive Officer

Gotlib and Orbach have been on a tear in recent years.

Gotlib and Orbach’s GO Partners purchased JDS’s American Cooper Buildings for $837 million in 2022. In 2023, the two closed on the final piece of a 1,600-unit Manhattan multifamily portfolio from Soloviev. Gotlib is a bit of an unknown, but his firm Black Spruce amassed an envious multifamily portfolio of over 4,000 units, making him one of the largest landlords in the city.

Gotlib’s joint venture partner Meyer Orbach is more of a known entity. Orbach has a stake in the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves, and his firm Orbach Group has bought or managed 125 buildings in New York City. And he, at least, has a photo of himself on his website.

In 2025, the two set out for the public markets, hoping to raise capital to pay down existing debt. Orbach and Gotlib’s joint venture, GO Partners, launched an IPO on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The IPO was priced at $410 million.

On the day of the IPO, GO Residential acquired RXR’s preferred equity position in One East River Place, and One and Two Sutton Place North for $339.5 million, continuing their acquisition spree.
