Rex Glendenning
Also known as the “King of Dirt,” the fourth-generation Collin County native and self-described deal junkie has been in game for more than 40 years, primarily focusing on land development north of Dallas.
His penchant for business comes from his father Don, who traded farm machinery when he wasn’t farming and ranching. Glendenning started selling land for Dan Christie at Collin County Land Company before founding North Texas Land in 1983 with his brother, Craig. The land company collapsed with the market, and Glendenning founded Rex Real Estate in 1987 with his wife Sherese.
He’s brokered some of the area’s most iconic deals, including connecting the Jones family with the Frisco land that would become the Dallas Cowboys’ headquarters, a massive mixed-use project known as the Star. Glendenning is a regular business partner of Mehrdad Moayedi, the founder of Centurion American Development Group and the most prolific single-family lot developer in North Texas.
The company has gotten into development, too. Glendenning’s latest banner project is King Place, a 600-acre development in his hometown, Celina.
In 2025, Glendenning shared plans to relocate Rex Real Estate’s headquarters from Frisco back to Celina, reflecting his deep family roots in the area.
