Robert Given
A top commercial broker in South Florida, Given has been involved in sales for more than a thousand projects and 300,000 multifamily units, as well as thousands of acres of land. The Memphis native has kept his Southern manner despite working in the cutthroat world of South Florida real estate, competitors and colleagues say.
After stints at Trammell Crow and Altman Companies, Given joined CBRE in 2003, staying with the brokerage until Cushman poached him and an 11-person team in 2016. In 2023, Given and a four-member Cushman team jumped back to CBRE. They focus on multifamily and developable land sales, and securing development equity and structured finance deals.
Over a decade ago, Given brokered the sale of a bayfront, 1.3-acre downtown Miami site on behalf of Spain’s wealthiest businessman, Amancio Ortego, and developers Diego Lowenstein and Ugo Colombo for $125 million. It marked the top land sale at the time.
Given’s top deals also include the sales of the pair of ParkLine towers atop Brightline’s downtown station for about $450 million in 2022 and, more recently, Aimco’s sale of a Brickell assemblage for $520 million. Given and his teammates, including Troy Ballard and James Quinn, have also been involved in trades at Miami Worldcenter, a master-planned mixed-use development led by Nitin Motwani, Art Falcone and CIM Group.
