Sasha C. Bass

Born Claudia Sazcha Camacho, the steward of Sundance Square is married to billionaire Ed Bass, part of a wealthy clan that has been a power player in Fort Worth since uncle Sid Richardson struck oil at Keystone Field in West Texas in the 1930s. Ed and brothers Robert, Lee and Sid are Richardson’s billionaire great-nephews. The family has been redeveloping Fort Worth since the 1970s.

Bass focuses on real estate, particularly her family’s 35-block mixed-use development in downtown Fort Worth. She is also the face of the family’s other Fort Worth contributions, like Bass Performance Hall, which the family delivered in 1998 with zero public funding.

The family owns so much downtown Fort Worth real estate and commands enough power that their blessing is practically required for commercial enterprises in the district, if not the city at large. They hold tightly, often in the interest of conservation, which can make it difficult to find available land for development in downtown Fort Worth.

Through their family office Fine Line Group, Sasha and Ed took a 100 percent stake in the family’s Sundance Square holdings in 2019. She was criticized for allowing vacancies to pile up in Sundance Square while requiring strict triple nets from popular tenants who chose to close shop. But the company handed some leasing business to LanCarte Commercial in 2025.
