Steve Van Amburgh
Van Amburgh represents half of the team behind a development that’s come to define Y’all Street.
The company has teamed up with Jonas Woods’ Pacific Elm Properties to develop Parkside Uptown, the 30-story mixed-use building that will be home to Bank of America’s new Dallas office. The pair scored a $290 million construction loan for the project in the spring of 2024.
Van Amburgh took on the CEO role in 2001 after managing KDC’s Texas operations for 15 years. Under his leadership, the developer has completed nearly 130 corporate build-to-suit office and industrial projects, valued at $3.7 billion and totaling over 27 million square feet.
The firm is currently undertaking its largest project, a 1.5 million-square-foot office development for State Farm in Richardson. In February 2023, KDC started construction on Wells Fargo’s extensive regional headquarters in Irving, projected at 800,000 square feet and worth over $455 million. This project is slated to include two 10-story office buildings designed to accommodate more than 3,000 employees. KDC also announced plans for a 770,000-square-foot data center on land owned by the University of Dallas, anticipating completion in about three years.
