Terry Montesi
Montesi got his first taste of entrepreneurship when he and his brother became Blockbuster’s fourth franchisee in 1986. It turns out that his aptitude for movie rentals translated to mixed-use development in Cowtown.
He founded Trademark Property Company in 1992 where he has worked on more than $3.4 billion and 14.6 million square feet of mixed-use properties. Trademark also recently launched a multifamily development vertical and started construction on its first ground-up apartment development in 2025.
The company has a Fort Worth focus, as evidenced by its development of Waterside, a Whole Foods-anchored shopping center in Clearfork, and WestBend, a shopping center near Fort Worth’s Cultural District.
Trademark also does business around the Metroplex and throughout the Sun Belt. The firm is moving forward with a $120 million development in Southlake called Shivers Farm, which will include 110,000 square feet of retail, 38,000 square feet of office space and 37 single-family lots. In December, Trademark was selected to be the developer of Shawnee Trail, a $1 billion mixed-use project that will be anchored by a Walmart. Plus, the company manages one of the largest shopping malls in Dallas, the 1.4 million-square-foot Galleria.
