Integra Investments dropped anchor on a $2 billion marina redevelopment in 2025.
That ambitious project, in partnership with the billionaire Huizenga family, will have 1,000 residential units. It follows the completion of Aventura Park Square in 2021, with 132 condo units, a 100,000-square-foot office building, a 45,000-square-foot medical wellness center, a 207-key Aloft hotel and 55,000 square feet of retail space.
Integra’s portfolio includes the 50-story, 152-unit St. Regis Residences Miami and the 14-story, 76-unit Sereno Fort Lauderdale. But perhaps the most significant component of its business is Integra’s marina investments. Since 2016, Ballestas and his Integra team have been rapidly scaling their acquisition, development and operation of marinas, targeting high-value assets in Florida and the East Coast.
Paulo Tavares de Melo founded the firm in 2006, according to published reports. Ballestas joined Integra in 2013, and has since emerged as the face of the firm. Before joining Integra, he managed the southeast division of Wheelock Street Capital. He also worked with Starwood Capital affiliate ST Residential, where he helped to sell off more than 3,200 South Florida condos during the Great Recession.
