Intuitive Surgical Pays $157M for Santa Clara Offices

Intuitive Surgical has bought three office properties in Santa Clara for a combined $157 million.

The Sunnyvale-based medical device firm purchased the offices at 3655 Kifer Road, 3689 Kifer Road and 2999 San Ysidro Road, the San Jose Mercury News reported.

The seller in the all-cash deals was Bayview Development Group, based in Los Altos.

Intuitive, now building a 1.2 million-square-foot office and research campus on 32 acres at 950 Kifer Road in Sunnyvale, has been on a real estate buying spree. Its products include a cutting-edge surgical robot.

From January 2017 to January last year, the medical tech company bought an unspecified number of properties in Sunnyvale for at least $114.3 million, according to the newspaper. Its newest purchases in Santa Clara bring its total purchases to $271.3 million.

Its newest offices near Kifer Road and Lawrence Expressway are near its emerging campus, in which it previously sank more than $100 million buying an array of parcels.
